Quality Care Project

The Quality Care Project for Center Based Child Care Providers is a program from the Department of Human Services (DHS) Quality Care Program designed to recognize and reward quality in preschools and childcare centers. To help you maintain quality, your program can be eligible to earn incentives of up to $100 per month for each enrolled child who receives a childcare subsidy from DHS.

There are three ways to qualify:

  • Maintain accreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) or the National Early Childhood Program Accreditation (NECPA)
  • Meet Professional Development Standards
  • Meet Hawai’i Preschool Content Standards (HPCS) for four-year-olds

Eligibility Period

Programs are eligible for 12 months. To maintain eligibility, you must reapply and submit documentation for the incentives two months before the end of the eligibility period.
